- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped almonds
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Fold in coconut, almonds, and chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Frost with chocolate frosting and sprinkle with extra coconut and almonds.
Notes
- Use unsweetened coconut for best results.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- This cake can be made a day ahead for better flavor.
