Description
Avocado brownies offer a healthier twist on the classic dessert, featuring a fudgy texture, rich chocolate flavor, and healthy fats from avocados.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup ripe avocados (about 2 medium avocados)
- 1 cup sugar (white or brown)
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mash the ripe avocados until smooth. Combine them with sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs, mixing well until smooth and glossy.
- In a separate bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
- If using, fold in chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Ensure the avocados are ripe for smooth and creamy texture.
- Avoid overmixing the batter to prevent dense brownies.
- Check the brownies early to avoid overbaking.
