Description
Delicious Bavarian cream custard dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon gelatin
- 3 tablespoons cold water
- 4 large egg yolks
Instructions
- In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan, heat milk and sugar over medium heat until dissolved.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks. Gradually add hot milk mixture to yolks, stirring constantly.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and gelatin until dissolved.
- Let the mixture cool slightly, then fold in whipped cream.
- Pour into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
Notes
- Serve chilled with fresh fruit or chocolate sauce.
- Can be made a day ahead.
- Adjust sweetness to taste.
