Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 4 large egg yolks

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan, heat milk and sugar over medium heat until dissolved.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks. Gradually add hot milk mixture to yolks, stirring constantly.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and gelatin until dissolved.
  6. Let the mixture cool slightly, then fold in whipped cream.
  7. Pour into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
