Description

California Roll Sushi Bowls are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that combines the flavors of sushi in a bowl format.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, julienned
  • 1 cup imitation crab meat, shredded
  • 4 sheets nori, cut into strips
  • Soy sauce, for serving

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine the rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  3. In a small saucepan, heat the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt over low heat until dissolved.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and mix in the vinegar mixture.
  5. Let the rice cool to room temperature.
  6. In serving bowls, layer the sushi rice, avocado, cucumber, and imitation crab meat.
  7. Top with nori strips.
  8. Serve with soy sauce on the side.

Notes

  • You can substitute real crab for imitation crab if preferred.
  • Add sesame seeds for extra flavor and texture.
