  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (90 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Optional: 1 cup (170 g) chocolate chips or nuts (for added texture)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with butter or line with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in the granulated sugar and remove from heat to cool slightly.
  3. Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over it. Pour the remaining brownie batter on top, smoothing it out, then drizzle with the rest of the caramel sauce. Optionally, sprinkle chocolate chips or nuts.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
