Ingredients

- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 3 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup goat cheese, crumbled
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions and cook until soft and golden, about 20 minutes.
- Stir in balsamic vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet.
- Spread the caramelized onion mixture over the pastry.
- Sprinkle goat cheese on top of the onions.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Can be made ahead and reheated.
- Try adding herbs for extra flavor.
