Description

A delicious fusion of cheeseburgers and quesadillas, this recipe features seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and customizable toppings, all wrapped in a crispy tortilla.


Ingredients

  • Flour tortillas: 4 large tortillas
  • Ground beef: 1 lb (450 g)
  • Cheddar cheese: 2 cups shredded
  • Diced onions: 1/2 cup
  • Pickles: 1/4 cup chopped
  • Ketchup: 1/4 cup
  • Mustard: 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt and pepper: to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 6-8 minutes until browned.
  3. Drain excess fat and set the beef aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the diced onions for 3-4 minutes until soft.
  5. Mix the cooked ground beef back into the skillet with the onions.
  6. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and place one flour tortilla in it.
  7. On one half of the tortilla, spread the beef and onion mixture, then sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  8. Fold the tortilla over to cover the filling.
  9. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until crispy and cheese is melted.
  10. Remove from skillet, let cool for a minute, slice into wedges, and serve warm with ketchup and mustard on the side.

  • Feel free to customize with optional ingredients like garlic powder, paprika, jalapeños, or different cheeses.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with black beans or lentils.
