Description
Delicious cheesecake brownies with a rich chocolate base and creamy cheesecake swirl.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter
- 8 oz (225 g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (200 g) packed brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (130 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chopped chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted chocolate mixture with granulated sugar and brown sugar. Stir until well combined.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the chocolate mixture, stirring until just combined.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined and creamy.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Spoon dollops of the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer. Then, pour the remaining brownie batter on top. Use a knife or a skewer to swirl the cheesecake mixture into the brownie batter for a marbled effect.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes. Once cooled, lift them out of the pan using the parchment paper (if used) and slice into squares.
- Enjoy your cheesecake brownies warm or at room temperature. They can be served plain or with a dusting of powdered sugar for an elegant touch.
Notes
- For an extra chocolatey flavor, you can add chocolate chips to the brownie batter.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
- These brownies pair wonderfully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an indulgent dessert.
