- 1 lb chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 cup tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 cup cucumber, diced
- 1/4 cup tahini sauce
Instructions
- Mix olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, turmeric, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Coat the chicken thighs in the spice mixture.
- Marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat.
- Cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Warm the pita breads on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
- Assemble the shawarma by placing chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumber in the pita.
- Drizzle with tahini sauce before serving.

- Adjust the spice levels according to your taste.
- You can substitute chicken with beef or lamb.
