Description

Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 150g sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 250ml heavy cream
  • 50g icing sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Melt dark chocolate and butter together.
  3. In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale.
  4. Add melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture.
  5. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
  6. Spread the batter onto a lined baking tray.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Cool the sponge on a wire rack.
  9. Whip cream with icing sugar and vanilla.
  10. Spread cream on the cooled sponge and roll it up.
  11. Dust with icing sugar before serving.
