Description

A festive drink combining eggnog and cinnamon for a holiday delight.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine milk and cream over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale.
  3. Gradually add warm milk mixture to egg mixture, whisking continuously.
  4. Return the combined mixture to the saucepan over low heat.
  5. Add vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  6. Cook until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
  7. Remove from heat, stir in rum if using.
  8. Cool and refrigerate before serving.
  9. Serve chilled and garnish with extra cinnamon.
