Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust according to package instructions.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  4. Add water and cook over medium heat until thickened.
  5. Stir in egg yolks, lemon juice, and butter.
  6. Pour the lemon filling into the pie crust.
  7. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  8. Gradually add sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  9. Spread meringue over the lemon filling.
