Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in vanilla.
  6. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  8. Fold in toffee bits and chopped nuts.
  9. Divide the batter between the prepared pans.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
