Ingredients

  • Ground beef – 1 pound
  • Onion – 1 medium, chopped
  • Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
  • Tomato sauce – 28 ounces
  • Crushed tomatoes – 14 ounces
  • Ricotta cheese – 15 ounces
  • Mozzarella cheese – 2 cups, shredded
  • Parmesan cheese – 1 cup, grated
  • Egg – 1 large
  • Italian seasoning – 2 teaspoons
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Pepper – 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic.
  4. Add tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  6. Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish.
  7. Add a layer of noodles, followed by ricotta mixture and mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with meat sauce and mozzarella on top.
  9. Sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese on top.
  10. Bake for 45 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
