Crispy fried mushrooms served with a cool ranch dip.
Ingredients

- 1 pound mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
Instructions
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F.
- In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip mushrooms in the flour mixture, then in beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Fry mushrooms in hot oil until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, mix sour cream with ranch seasoning to make the dip.
- Serve fried mushrooms hot with cool ranch dip on the side.
Notes
- For a spicier dip, add hot sauce to the ranch mixture.
- Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
- Ensure oil is hot before frying to avoid soggy mushrooms.
