Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large potatoes (about 1.5 kg), peeled and diced
- 2 cups (about 200 g) cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 can (10.5 oz or 300 g) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup (240 ml) sour cream
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 6 slices of crispy bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk (optional, for a creamier texture)
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients by peeling and dicing the potatoes into small cubes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced potatoes and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Add the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chopped onion, garlic powder, and black pepper to the bowl. Stir until well combined.
- Grease the inside of the crockpot with cooking spray or olive oil, then pour the potato mixture into the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the potatoes are tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle the crumbled bacon on top. Stir gently before serving warm.
Notes
- Avoid cutting the potatoes too large for even cooking.
- Always grease the crockpot to prevent sticking.
- Be careful not to overcook the casserole to avoid mushy potatoes.
