Description
A hearty dish of meatballs simmered in a rich red wine sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp thyme
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into meatballs.
- Place meatballs in the crockpot.
- Add wine, beef broth, mushrooms, onion, carrots, bay leaf, and thyme.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve hot.

- Pair with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
