Description

Curry meatballs are a delightful twist on traditional meatballs, combining rich curry flavors with tender meatballs in a creamy coconut sauce.


Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 100 grams breadcrumbs (about 1 cup)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 can (400 ml) coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and combine ground beef, onion, garlic, ginger, curry powder, breadcrumbs, cilantro, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs about 2.5 cm (1 inch) in diameter and place them on a plate.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the meatballs in batches for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  4. In the same skillet, add coconut milk and lime juice, scraping up browned bits, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Return the meatballs to the skillet, coat them in the sauce, and simmer for an additional 5 minutes before serving.

  • Avoid overmixing the meatball mixture to prevent tough meatballs.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet when cooking the meatballs.
