A simple and delicious strawberry shortcake recipe that layers fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
Ingredients

- 2 cups of fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 4 shortcake biscuits
Instructions
- Prepare strawberries by mixing with sugar, set aside for 30 minutes.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Cut shortcake biscuits in half horizontally.
- Layer bottom half of biscuit with strawberries and whipped cream.
- Top with the other half of the biscuit and add more strawberries and cream.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use ripe strawberries for best flavor.
- Shortcake can be made ahead and stored.
- Feel free to add a splash of lemon juice to strawberries.
