Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough:
– In a large mixing bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
– Add vinegar and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
2. Combine Dry Ingredients:
– In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt (if using).
– Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix until the dough comes together.
3. Shape and Decorate:
– Roll the dough into 1-inch balls or flatten it to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface for cut-out shapes.
– Decorate with colored sugar or sprinkles if desired.
4. Bake the Cookies:
– Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
– Place the cookies on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between them.
– Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden.
5. Cool and Serve:
– Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2–3 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
