Description

A moist and flavorful tea loaf made with dates and walnuts.


Ingredients

  • 200g pitted dates
  • 100g walnuts, chopped
  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 150g sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 100ml milk
  • 50g butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease and line a loaf tin.
  3. Chop the dates and walnuts.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and melted butter.
  6. Combine wet and dry ingredients, then fold in dates and walnuts.
  7. Pour the mixture into the loaf tin.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
