Instructions

  3. Continue to cook without stirring until the mixture reaches a deep amber color, about 300°F on a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. If using, sprinkle chopped nuts on top while still warm.
  7. Let cool completely, then break into pieces.
  8. Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over toffee, if desired.
