Description

Greek meatballs, known as Keftedes, are flavorful and tender meatballs made with ground meat, herbs, and spices.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Fry the meatballs in batches until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

Notes

  • Serve with tzatziki sauce for dipping.
  • These meatballs can be baked in the oven at 400°F for a healthier option.
