Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 whole wheat pita breads
  • 1 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup red onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp dill

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add chicken slices and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat grill or skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook marinated chicken for 6-8 minutes until fully cooked.
  5. Warm pita breads on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, combine yogurt and dill for the sauce.
  7. Assemble gyros by placing chicken, cucumber, tomatoes, and red onion in pita.
  8. Drizzle with yogurt sauce and serve immediately.
