Ingredients

  • 12 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook rigatoni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add diced onion and cook until translucent.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add Italian sausage, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  6. Once sausage is browned, add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. Add cooked rigatoni to the skillet and mix well.
  9. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
