Description
A delicious Italian dish resembling a rolled-up pizza, filled with meats, cheeses, and vegetables, baked until golden brown.
Ingredients
- Pizza dough: 1 pound
- Salami: 4 ounces, sliced
- Pepperoni: 4 ounces, sliced
- Mozzarella cheese: 2 cups, shredded
- Bell peppers: 1 cup, thinly sliced
- Onions: 1/2 cup, thinly sliced
- Italian seasoning: 1 teaspoon
- Marinara sauce: 1/2 cup, for serving
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon, for brushing
- Salt and pepper: to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by letting it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes if store-bought, or let homemade dough rise until doubled.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 12×16 inches on a floured surface.
- Layer the salami, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, bell peppers, onions, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper on the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly from one long edge and seal the edges by pinching them together.
- Place the rolled Stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and bake in a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
- Let it cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing into 1-inch thick pieces and serve with marinara sauce.
Notes
- Avoid overfilling the Stromboli to prevent bursting.
- Ensure edges are sealed tightly to keep filling inside.
- Allow cooling time before slicing for cleaner cuts.
