Description

Kolacky are traditional Czech pastries filled with fruit or sweet cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fruit preserves or sweet cheese filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, butter, cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  3. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
  5. Cut into squares and place a spoonful of filling in the center.
  6. Fold corners over the filling to form a pocket.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
