Ingredients

- 3 lbs chuck roast
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup sesame oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
- Brown the chuck roast on all sides.
- Add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 3 minutes.
- Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
- Add carrots and mushrooms, cover the pot.
- Transfer pot to oven and cook for 3-4 hours.
- Check for tenderness; meat should be easy to shred.
- Serve topped with chopped green onions.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the roast overnight.
- Adjust sugar based on your taste preference.
- Serve with rice or noodles for a complete meal.
