Ingredients

- 1 cup red lentils
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- Rinse the lentils under cold water.
- In a pot, combine lentils and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until lentils are soft, about 15 minutes.
- Drain excess water and let lentils cool slightly.
- In a bowl, mash the lentils until smooth.
- Add whole wheat flour, salt, baking powder, olive oil, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until combined.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing.
Notes
- Store bread in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free flour.
