Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Spread tomato sauce evenly on the dough.
- Top with mozzarella slices and basil leaves.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
- Season with salt and pepper before serving.
