Ingredients

 - Brown sugar: 1/4 cup (50 g)
 - Egg: 1 large
 - Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon (5 ml)
 - Baking powder: 1 teaspoon (5 g)
 - Salt: 1/4 teaspoon (1 g)
 
Instructions
- Cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
 - Divide the dough into two equal portions; one will remain plain and the other will be flavored with matcha.
 - Add matcha powder to the second portion of dough and mix until the color is evenly distributed.
 - Roll out each portion of dough to about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thick and cut into strips.
 - Chill the dough wrapped in plastic wrap for at least 1 hour.
 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the chilled dough into 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thick cookies and arrange them on the baking sheet.
 - Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and the centers remain soft.
