Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.
  4. Add cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
  5. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  6. Fold in vanilla extract.
  7. Spread the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 1 hour or until firm.
  9. Remove from oven and let it cool completely.
  10. Whip heavy cream and cocoa powder until soft peaks form.
  11. Spread the whipped cream over the cooled meringue.
  12. Roll the meringue tightly from one end to create a log shape.
  13. Dust with chocolate shavings for decoration.
