Description

Traditional mince pie filled with a rich mixture of dried fruits and spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup mincemeat filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and sugar.
  3. Add chilled butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Stir in egg yolk and cold water to form a dough.
  5. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  6. Roll out the dough and cut circles for the base and tops.
  7. Place bases in muffin tins and fill with mincemeat.
  8. Top with dough circles and seal edges.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use store-bought mincemeat for convenience.
  • Decorate with icing sugar before serving.
