Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Slice the tops off the onions and peel them.
  2. Soak the onions in buttermilk for 2 hours.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Remove onions from buttermilk and dredge in the flour mixture.
  6. Fry the onions until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
