Description
Warm and spiced mulled wine perfect for Christmas gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bottle of red wine (750ml)
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 5 whole cloves
- 2 star anise
- 1/4 cup brandy (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the red wine, orange slices, lemon slices, and sugar.
- Heat over medium heat until warm, but do not boil.
- Add cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise.
- Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- If desired, add brandy and stir.
- Strain the mixture into mugs and serve warm.
Notes
- Adjust sugar to taste.
- Can be made in advance and reheated.
- Garnish with additional fruit or spices if desired.
