Ingredients

- 1 bottle of red wine
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 5 whole cloves
- 2 star anise
- 1/4 cup of brandy (optional)
Instructions
- Pour the red wine into a large pot.
- Add the sliced orange and lemon.
- Stir in the sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat until it is warm but not boiling.
- Add brandy if desired.
- Let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Strain the spices and serve warm.

- Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Use your favorite red wine.
- Serve with additional fruit slices for garnish.
