  • 3 large eggs
  • 200ml treacle
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease and flour a cake pan.
  3. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  5. Stir in treacle, vanilla, orange zest, lemon zest, orange juice, and lemon juice.
  6. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let the cake cool before serving.
