Ingredients

- 200g all-purpose flour
- 150g brown sugar
- 100g unsalted butter
- 3 large eggs
- 200ml treacle
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 orange
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Juice of 1 orange
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Grease and flour a cake pan.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in treacle, vanilla, orange zest, lemon zest, orange juice, and lemon juice.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool before serving.
Notes
- Store the cake in an airtight container.
- It can be served with whipped cream or ice cream.
- For extra flavor, add more citrus zest.
