A rich and moist cake made with muscovado sugar and date butter.
Ingredients

- 200g muscovado sugar
- 150g unsalted butter
- 3 large eggs
- 250g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 200g date butter
- 100ml milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Grease and flour a cake pan.
- In a bowl, cream together muscovado sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Stir in date butter and milk until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Store cake in an airtight container.
- Best served with tea or coffee.
- Can be topped with whipped cream for extra indulgence.
