Delicious patty melts with a special secret sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 slices of rye bread
- 4 slices of cheese (your choice)
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the secret sauce by mixing mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard in a bowl.
- Form the ground beef into two patties, season with salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tbsp of butter.
- Add the onion slices and cook until caramelized.
- In the same skillet, cook the beef patties for about 4 minutes on each side or until cooked to your liking.
- Place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking.
- Toast the rye bread in the remaining butter until golden brown.
- Assemble the melt: Spread secret sauce on the toasted bread, add the patty, onions, and top with another slice of bread.
- Cook the sandwich in the skillet until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.
Notes
- Use your favorite cheese for different flavors.
- Adjust the sauce ingredients to taste.
- Serve with chips or a side salad.
