- 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (50 g) almond flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
- 1/4 cup (30 g) sliced almonds (for topping)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, almond flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing just until combined.
- Gently fold in half of the sliced pears into the batter, reserving the other half for topping.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Arrange the remaining pear slices on top.
- Sprinkle the sliced almonds over the top of the cake.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust the top with powdered sugar if desired. Slice and serve.

- For added flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the batter.
- This cake can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for up to a week.
