A hearty and flavorful casserole inspired by the classic Philly cheese steak sandwich.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 4 cups frozen hash browns
- 2 cups shredded provolone cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
- Add the onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Cook until softened.
- Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the hash browns.
- Spread the beef mixture over the hash browns.
- Add the remaining hash browns on top.
- Sprinkle provolone and cheddar cheese over the casserole.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Feel free to add other vegetables like spinach or zucchini.
- For a spicier version, add jalapeños.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated easily.
