- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 3 large eggs

- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine eggs, oil, buttermilk, food coloring, and vanilla.
- Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased jelly roll pan.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for 10 minutes, then roll it in a clean kitchen towel.
- For the filling, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth, then add powdered sugar.
- Unroll the cooled cake, spread the filling, and roll it back up.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before slicing.
Notes
- Make sure to use a clean towel to avoid sticking.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
- Use gel food coloring for a vibrant color.
