  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine buttermilk, oil, egg, food coloring, and vanilla.
  4. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until combined.
  5. Knead dough on a floured surface and roll into a rectangle.
  6. Spread butter on the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices.
  8. Place slices in a greased baking dish.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  10. While baking, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla for frosting.
  11. Let rolls cool for a few minutes, then frost with cream cheese frosting.
