Delicious red velvet cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine buttermilk, oil, egg, food coloring, and vanilla.
- Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until combined.
- Knead dough on a floured surface and roll into a rectangle.
- Spread butter on the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices.
- Place slices in a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes.
- While baking, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla for frosting.
- Let rolls cool for a few minutes, then frost with cream cheese frosting.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- These rolls can be frozen before baking.
- Adjust sugar to taste in frosting.
