Description
Salisbury steak is a dish made from seasoned ground beef shaped into oval patties, served with gravy.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 tablespoons oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into oval patties.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side until browned.
- Remove patties and set aside.
- Add beef broth to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits.
- Return patties to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the broth to thicken.
- Serve patties with gravy over the top.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or vegetables.
- Can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
