Salisbury steak served with garlic mashed potatoes and mushrooms.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form mixture into patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Remove patties and set aside.
  6. Add mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until soft.
  7. Add beef broth to the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  8. Return the patties to the skillet and cover, cooking for 10 minutes.
  9. Meanwhile, boil potatoes in salted water until tender.
  10. Drain potatoes and mash with garlic, milk, and butter.
  11. Serve patties over garlic mashed potatoes and top with mushrooms.

  • Adjust seasoning to your taste.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables.
