Description
Soft pretzel bites served with a cheesy dip.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten
- Coarse salt for sprinkling
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
- In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour and salt to the mixture. Knead until smooth.
- Let dough rise for 30 minutes.
- Cut dough into small pieces and roll into balls.
- Boil water with baking soda. Dip each ball in the water for 30 seconds.
- Place on a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- For the cheese dip, melt cheddar and cream cheese with milk in a saucepan.
- Serve pretzel bites warm with cheese dip.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Reheat in the oven for best results.
