Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat and set aside to cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter, mixing until smooth and creamy.
- Add sourdough starter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the sugar-butter mixture, stirring until well combined.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then fold into the wet ingredients until fully incorporated.
- Optionally, fold in chocolate chips or nuts for added texture.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs but no wet batter. Avoid overbaking.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and enjoy!
