Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Place the chicken breast side down on a cutting board.
  3. Using kitchen shears, cut along both sides of the backbone and remove it.
  4. Flip the chicken over and press down on the breast to flatten it.
  5. Rub olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika all over the chicken.
  6. Squeeze lemon juice over the chicken.
  7. Place the chicken on a baking sheet, skin side up.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  9. Let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
