Description
Swedish meatballs made with ground beef in a creamy sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Mix well and form into small meatballs.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add meatballs and brown on all sides.
- Remove meatballs and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add flour and stir for 1 minute.
- Slowly add beef broth, stirring constantly.
- Add heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Return meatballs to the skillet and cook for 10 minutes.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Use fresh breadcrumbs for better texture.
- Adjust seasonings to taste.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or lingonberry sauce.
