Description

Swedish meatballs made with ground beef in a creamy sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  2. Mix well and form into small meatballs.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  4. Add meatballs and brown on all sides.
  5. Remove meatballs and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, add flour and stir for 1 minute.
  7. Slowly add beef broth, stirring constantly.
  8. Add heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  9. Return meatballs to the skillet and cook for 10 minutes.
  10. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use fresh breadcrumbs for better texture.
  • Adjust seasonings to taste.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or lingonberry sauce.
