A moist and flavorful loaf made with treacle, dates, and nutmeg.
Ingredients

- 200g treacle
- 150g pitted dates, chopped
- 100g unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 200g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 100g sugar
- 200ml milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and treacle together.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until combined.
- Add the melted butter mixture to the egg mixture and mix well.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then fold in the chopped dates.
- Pour in the milk and stir until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased loaf tin.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
- Let it cool before slicing.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Can be served warm or at room temperature.
- Pairs well with butter or cream cheese.
